NO NO BORDERS BORDERS

Every border is gone and one country has been wiped off the map. Name it before the clock runs out.

  1. Spot what's different. The borders are gone and one country has been cut out, leaving a hole or a missing island. Pinch or scroll to zoom in.
  2. Type the country's name. Small typos are fine, and near misses get a "did you mean".
  3. 20 seconds a round, five rounds a day, from a gimme to brutal. Share your score.

The world behind this screen is live: it is night wherever it is dark, and the lights are real cities.

197 countries: the 193 UN members plus Vatican City, Palestine, Kosovo and Taiwan. The 14 Oceania countries sit out, and 21 countries too small to spot on a region map (Vatican City, Monaco, Bahrain, the smallest Caribbean islands…) are never the missing one. Borders from Natural Earth (world-atlas). Flags from the worldflags package. Populations are 2026 estimates (Worldometer, from UN World Population Prospects). Terrain colouring is illustrative.
